Acrylic Glitter

Glitter acrylic is a 3.0 mm thick, single layer acrylic material with glitter particles evenly distributed throughout the material. It is not a two layer or coated material.

Glitter acrylic is a decorative, single layer acrylic material with embedded glitter particles and a striking, light reflecting appearance. The decorative effect extends throughout the material and is not limited to a separate top layer. Typical applications include POS displays, gift items, ornaments, decorative elements, lettering, tags and individual signage. The material can be cut and processed using suitable laser or milling equipment. Engraving is also possible. Depending on the material colour, glitter effect and engraving method, the contrast between the engraving and the background may be lower than with conventional two layer engraving materials. The glitter effect is created directly by the particles embedded in the acrylic. The material has been developed primarily for decorative and creative applications and is suitable for sales displays, decorations, gift items, lettering, creative signage and a wide range of individual design projects.

Application and Processing:
Glitter acrylic is particularly suitable for contour and vector cutting as well as decorative engraving. Since no differently coloured top or core layer is exposed during engraving, it does not produce the typical colour contrast associated with two layer engraving plastics. The visibility of the engraving therefore depends on the colour, glitter density, engraving depth and lighting conditions. Laser power, speed, focus and milling parameters should be tested on a sample piece Before processing larger quantities and adjusted to suit the individual design. Protective films should remain on the material until processing whenever possible.
